Building a Pond

Taking the leap - digging up our yard. Pics from 5 yrs ago or so. What had we gotten ourselves into??

We wanted to take advantage of the really nice rock wall feature, perhaps eventually building a natural waterfall on it. Upon digging we realized we had dug and cut into the large drainage pipes surrounding the house, pipes meant to be intact and to keep the house dry.  Whoops. You can see the input and output large pipes, cut cleanly in these pics. Took us the whole next year and a bit to figure out how to deal with that, and still have an intact pond liner in there somewhere.

The first dig - definitely not for the faint of heart!!!!
